Key stakeholders in European cooperation across the Alpine Region gathered in Villach in early March at the event “Networking in the Alpine Region: Building Connections, Shaping the Future”. EuroVienna also took part in the event to contribute strategic topics for upcoming funding periods and to establish new partnerships.

On 2 and 3 March 2026, the event “Networking in the Alpine Region: Building Connections, Shaping the Future” took place at the Congress Center Villach. The meeting was jointly organised by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management, the Province of Carinthia, and the National Contact Point Austria.

Following the joint presidency of Austria and Liechtenstein of EUSALP in 2025, the event focused on national exchange on cooperation in the Alpine region. Numerous representatives from public administration, project implementation and programme institutions discussed current challenges and future opportunities for cooperation.

The programme included thematic short inputs, interactive World Café sessions and the so-called “Alpine Dates”, which enabled targeted networking between project partners, programme authorities and National Contact Points. Key future topics, potential cooperation formats and relevant stakeholders for upcoming initiatives in the Alpine region were identified during these discussions.

EuroVienna was also represented at the event and used the opportunity for in-depth exchanges with programme representatives and potential project partners. The focus was on strategic orientations for upcoming funding periods in the Alpine region, as well as on topics particularly relevant for the City of Vienna and its companies. Direct dialogue with key stakeholders is especially important at this early stage of programme planning in order to introduce priorities and actively contribute to shaping future framework conditions.
